Caitlin Coop, LCPC, LPCS, NCC
I am from the Pacific Northwest. I grew up with a natural curiosity about mental health. I consider myself a “lucky duck” because I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a therapist when I grew up. As natural as fish are to water, being a therapist is my calling. I first graduated from Central Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts. I took a self-care break and continued on for my second degree. I graduated from Capella University with a Master of Science and a certificate in Contemporary Theory in Mental Health.
I have provided therapy for a total of six years now. I have been in private practice for two of those six years. I have enjoy sharing so much with clients about how to improve and sustain manageable mental health habits and care. In therapy together, you are encouraged to show up just as you are. I take a slow, educational stance on keeping my clients informed throughout the therapeutic process. I provide therapy from a trauma-informed, gender affirming, evidence-based approach. We may laugh or cry. We may share jokes, recipes, or other casual information. Something we will not do is stay comfortable. Change is uncomfortable, and if I am not encouraging change in a safe way, then I am not doing my part as your therapist. I look forward to your journey and working together.
